Barry’s Kidney operation update and skydive!

Some of our local customers will be aware that one of our members of staff, Barry Kent, received some very difficult news in June last year, when he was diagnosed with Kidney disease.

After an extremely difficult 4-5 months enduring dialysis 4 times a day, it was confirmed that Barry’s father would be able to donate one of his kidneys, to give Barry the chance to live a normal lifestyle again.

Now some 9 months on from the initial diagnosis, we are pleased to report that Barry has undergone the surgery, and both he and his father are on their route to recovery.

You can read more about Barry’s story here:-

Barry is now intending to perform a skydive, in support of the Charity Kidney research UK.

In an appeal to local businesses for support, Barry wrote:

“I have signed up to jump out of a plane at over 15,000 feet (2 miles high) with an accelerated free-fall of over 120mph in aid of Kidney Research UK. It’s my way of giving something back to the charity which has helped me through this hard time in my life.

I would love your help in raising as much money as I can for this amazing charity and any donations would be greatly received. Please click on the below link to visit my fundraising page which gives further information about my personal challenge and also an opportunity to sponsor me. All donations of any size will be gratefully received and I really would appreciate your help with this.

Thank you for taking the time to read my request and no matter how big or small the donation every little will really help.”

We are very proud of Barry for the way he has handled this difficult situation, and also for his selfless efforts to give something back to the people who have helped him.

If you can spare any amount for sponsoring Barry it would be greatly appreciated.
